Elevation Shifts (2024)



I was first evicted with my family when I was 10 years old. We never secured permanent housing after that. When we would walk around the city, my mother would look up very often and say to me, "Imagine if we lived there?" While looking up at fancy buildings, I find it appealing to take in the moment. As I photograph the distortion of fancy buildings, I am using photography as a way to numb my pain. The pain of being evicted.
